UPPA is when a person who is not a licensed public adjuster, practices public adjusting unlawfully. This has caused negative effects for both insurance companies and policyholders alike. In a post-disaster environment, a policyholder may file a property damage insurance claim and choose to hire a public adjuster. An UPPA offender would prey on these individuals and coerce them into helping to settle their claim, while not actually being licensed to do so. This podcast covers topics such as:
