Since public adjusting comes from a position of advocacy for the client, the approach is very different than that of an independent or company insurance adjuster. Similarly, on the FEMA consulting side, we also work as advocates for applicants and have an extensive interview process in place for this program.


We are currently seeking:

Lead RFP Writer

This position recommends and identifies opportunities for requests for proposals, as well as gathers, develops, and writes the proposals for submission.

This person needs to have a minimum of five years as a lead RFP writer/project manager for Federal, State and local municipal entities. Must be familiar with services and data mining capabilities for services that present opportunities.

Job Duties:

Proposals

  • Recommends proposal approach by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal (RFPs); coordinating and attending strategy meetings.
  • Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings/reports; transmitting proposals.
  • Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks and requirements associated with proposals. Works with RFP Coordinator to project manage proposal development process and supports RFP Coordinator to guide team members and contributors regarding timelines required to meet proposal deadlines.
  • Develops proposal by assembling information including company and staff capabilities, project understanding, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, scopes of work and implementation, approach and methodology, quality control and reporting methods, timetable, staffing, and budget; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, capabilities, scopes of work, project descriptions, resumes and organization/staff credentials, and required forms and/or documentation.
  • Works with team to update, edit, and customize resumes, on a regular schedule and as required.
  • Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding; coordinating printing and production in compliance with RFP requirements.
  • Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; developing and maintaining proposal support databases (Qvidian experience preferred).
  • Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate; implementing changes.

Content Development

  • Works with marketing team to identify, determine and prioritize content development needs and applications
  • Meets those needs through content development, including gathering background information and specifications; performing interviews with technical experts as required; and writing/producing professional content that may be leveraged across various platforms for a wide range of audiences from private homeowner to commercial business to government sector.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective time management – handle and prioritize projects regardless of inevitable changing scope, timelines, goals, deliverables, etc.

Skills/Qualifications

Written communication, technical documentation, layout skills, problem solving, deadline-oriented, process improvement, coordination, strategic planning, and market knowledge. Understanding of graphic design and/or social media content development is a plus. Familiarity with Qvidian preferred. Bachelor’s degree required. Emergency Management Disaster Recovery industry knowledge/familiarity is strongly preferred.

Licensed Public Adjusters

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve property claims
  • Prepare diagrams and estimates
  • Evaluate insurance policy language
  • Negotiate claim settlements

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience handling property claims, including commercial property adjusting
  • Familiarity with Xactimate Program preferred

Professional Estimators

Responsibilities:

  • Site visits to collect property/facility damage information
  • Prepare diagrams and estimates

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in construction/damage repair estimating
  • Familiarity with Xactimate Program highly preferred

Disaster Recovery Consultants

Responsibilities:

  • Damage assessment and recovery in areas affected by natural disasters
  • Participate in Applicant and Grantee briefings and kick-off meetings
  • Project Worksheet formulation and review
  • Ongoing temporary assignments requiring travel to areas affected by natural disasters

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in engineering, construction, or estimating/appraisal
  • Emergency Management / FEMA experience preferred
